This position is a staff physician position for a fellowship trained neuromuscular specialist with the Ralph H Johnson VA Medical Center in Charleston, SC. The neuromuscular staff physician will be evaluating outpatient with neuromuscular disorders, participate in the ALS interdisciplinary clinic and perform EMG studies. The EMG lab is supported by 3 technicians. As need arises, the staff physician might supervise the resident continuity clinic, see general neurology patients, or attend the inpatient service. Ralph H Johnson VA Medical Center Neurology service is comprised of 20 neurologists consisting of part time and full time and offers general neurology and subspecialty neurology services to Veterans. Its academic affiliate is the Medical University of South Carolina (MUSC), and qualified applicants might be considered for a university part time appointment to make this all together a full-time position.

Work Schedule: Monday - Friday, 8:00 a.m. - 4:30 p.m.

Education Debt Reduction Program (Student Loan Repayment):This position is eligible for the Education Debt Reduction Program (EDRP), a student loan payment reimbursement program. You must meet specific individual eligibility requirements in accordance with VHA policy and submit your EDRP application within four months of appointment. Approval, award amount (up to $200,000) and eligibility period (one to five years) are determined by the VHA Education Loan Repayment Services program office after complete review of the EDRP application.

Pay: Competitive salary, annual performance bonus, regular salary increases
